Unique families face unique challenges. Problem behavior often interferes with an individual’s ability to function independently in the home and community, limits vocational options, and strains relationships with friends and family.
Positive Behavior Supports (PBS) include a personalized assessment to identify the primary behaviors of concern and the function (why the behaviors are reoccurring). After assessment, a Positive Behavior Support Specialist will work with parents, guardians, and other team members to create a Positive Behavior Support Plan.
This plan will address environmental modifications and prevention strategies needed to reduce challenging behavior, as well as teaching skills for independence. PBS services can be provided in Adult Day Training facilities, schools, homes, community settings, and other therapeutic environments.
Positive Behavior Supports are available to all qualifying participants of the KY Medicaid Waiver programs
